A few weeks ago we challenged pairs of 5th graders to write down their ideas for an ideal PE lesson. Yesterday we enjoyed the first of these student-led sessions. Both pairs wanted to feature a version of dodgeball preceded by a standard kind of fitness warm-up. At the end classmates shared feedback in the form of positive statements or as questions. When I asked the student leaders about their experience they said they liked knowing what was going to happen and deciding how long to spend on each activity.
